Our Pastors & Church Staff
Eric Reamer is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After a five year career in the Navy, God led Eric to join the staff of a Christian church in Virginia. Two years later, in 1994, he and his family moved to the Capital District to begin North Hills Christian Church. In 2004 Eric completed his Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Eric has been married to his wife Janet for twenty-three years and they have six children ranging in ages from seventeen to seven.
"When I began North Hills Christian Church, the desire of my heart was to provide an environment and opportunity for people to begin and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. That desire continues now that I have become a part of the family of First Baptist Church of Scotia. God is working in my own life, changing me for the better. I have also had the marvelous privilege of seeing him work in the lives of many others. I want to personally invite you (as personal as a website can be!) to be our guest at First Baptist Church of Scotia.
In 1993, Jay Richmond was licensed to the Gospel Ministry and began leading the ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in Schenectady. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry through the Pinecrest Ministers Fellowship in 1997 and his ordination was recognized and accepted by the American Baptist Churches (2000).
He had served as Director of Urban Ministry for Capital District Youth for Christ from 1987-1994. During this period of Jay's life, God began to develop a heart for Unity in the Body of Christ. In 1995, Jay began to serve with Renewal Prayer Network. Now he serves as Ministry Director and President, bringing together Pastors and Leaders in 29 communities in the Greater Albany Region. Jay serves as Chaplain for the Village of Scotia Fire Department.
Jay lives in Colonie with his wife, Adrienne, and two children, Bethany and Matthew.
I'm Chris Gleason and, as Church Secretary, I am responsible for the various tasks related to the every day operations of the church. I prepare the Sunday Bulletin, selecting some of the songs and readings, prepare the church's monthly Roundtable (our publication, which notifies the members of coming events and other matters); the events calendar, and assist the pastors in many ways. I also act as the office manager, purchaser of office and maintenance supplies as well as numerous other daily tasks that require immediate action.
